What is Journey Kids?
Hey there! Are you familiar with Journey Kids? It's a super fun and special time during our church service! When the sermon starts, the kids get to go off and learn the same Bible text at their level. We understand that kids and adults have different needs and attention spans, so we want to make sure that everyone in our church is being served and has a chance to Reach Up in their relationship with God. Our ultimate goal is to help families deepen their relationship with God together as they Reach In. We hope that after the service, families can chat and share what they are all learning the same material. learned, as we what they learned, as we are all learning the same material.
Hey there! I’m excited to tell you about what we do during our time together. We read the same Bible text that the adults are studying during the sermon, and we have Pastor Chris, our Assistant Pastor, leading the learning time.
But wait, there’s more! We focus on the big point of the text and how it might relate to the daily life of a kid and their faith journey. We know that understanding the Bible can be tough sometimes, so we make sure to keep things interesting and engaging.
Oh, and don’t forget about our memory verse for each month! We learn it together as a class and make sure to prioritize scripture and its importance in our walk with Jesus. Memorizing verses is a great way to keep God’s word close to our hearts and minds, and we love talking about it as a group.
Since we know kids have a shorter attention span, we make sure to change things up and shift gears halfway through our time together. Ms. Erin takes over and leads our kids in a craft time that falls in the theme of our learning time. This is an awesome time for kids to get out their wiggles, engage their God-given creativity, and just have fun!
Oh, that’s an amazing question! Our Journey Kids program is tailored to kids aged 5 and above. We love to see our young ones grow with us and as they mature, they might find themselves enjoying the adult sermons more. We allow our families and kids to decide when they are ready to graduate from the kid’s program and join the adults.
